Do you have a child who likes to sing, dance, and act? I do. My daughter loves musical theater and for the past two years, she has participated in shows produced by OFCCreations, Rochester, New York. Eric Vaughn Johnson launched OFC (Opportunities for Creativity) Creations in 2005 “to give community artists the opportunity to push their creative limits.” OFC‘s live productions attracted the attention of local school districts who requested help from OFC to run their drama programs. This outreach into local schools expanded until now OFC Creations offers after-school and evening classes, professional workshops, and theater productions for kids during winter and spring school breaks. OFC Creations runs the largest summer camp theater program for kids ages 4-18 in upstate New York and produces a variety of shows remarkable in their diversity and widespread appeal.

Executive Director

Why OFC Creations?

  • OFC Creations offers private lessons in voice, dance, and acting. Lessons in other disciplines are also available from the multi-talented teaching staff.
  • Eric Johnson, the executive director of OFC, is very supportive of young artists. He goes out of his way to meet everyone’s needs and encourages kids with positive affirmations inspiring them to do their best. It’s very sweet of him.
  • OFC Creations offers before and after school care for parents who need those services. Refer to OFC’s website for availability.
  • Do you have an artistic kid but can’t afford the program? OFC Creations offers scholarships and will give financial help as much as possible to enable your child’s participation in their programs. This is especially true if the directors see your child working hard striving to do his or her best.
  • To register, go to OFC Creation’s website and fill out the registration forms. Or you can contact them and they will send you a link for registration.
  • OFC is a fun and positive environment for kids of all ages.
  • The directors are talented, top-notch professionals. Sharing their talent with young artists, these professionals open doors of warmest welcome into the world of musical theater.
In addition to the organization’s regular theater schedule, OFC runs camps during the winter, spring, and summer school vacations. Not only do kids learn to act, sing, and dance at these camps, their brain power is exercised and enhanced by memorizing the scripts. And that’s not all the benefits. Putting together a play requires teamwork and builds social skills as campers interact with other kids.

OFC Creations offers winter classes running from March to May or June.

Yes, we went there in Wisconsin a couple of years ago, and the vibes are similar here in Rochester. I heard it is one of the best musical areas in the country too.
